Darphin

Darphin was founded in 1958 by Master Botanist, Formulator and Kinesiotherapist, Pierre Darphin who channelled plant essences to create a range of high-performance botanical skin care products. Based on his understanding of muscular skeletal structures and their relationship to circulation, Darphin also created facial ‘kinesio’ massage techniques designed to welcome the formulations into the skin. In 2002, Darphin was acquired by The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC). Over the years the brand has gained a loyal following of ‘Darphinettes’ globally across 45 countries, but most recently it has been gaining in popularity in Asia, China in particular, in line with the skincare boom and quest for ‘pure beauty’ in the region. ELC is now relaunching the brand with a focus on its on-trend, high-performance botanical skincare to drive global growth and expansion, including in travel retail. At the beginning of the year, ELC appointed Anne Troussicot as Darphin Senior Vice President & Global General Manager to lead the brand’s expansion by building on Darphin’s hero products, accelerating the brand’s social media and digital footprint, driving fast-growing brand-building channels and leveraging its recent successful launch in China. Around 99% of Darphin’s pure Master Oils are sourced from the best crops in the world. Roses from Anatolia, Turkey, the rose capital of the world. Jasmine from India where 50 different varieties grow. The distillation process is performed close to the crops, within a few hours of the flowers being picked, and with exacting techniques to ensure the integrity and quality of each oil. There are currently eight expressions in Darphin’s Essential Oil Elixir range: 8-Flower Nectar Oil; Chamomile; Niaouli; Rose; Tangerine; Orange Blossom; Jasmine and Vetiver – each targeting specific skin concerns.
